The Seven Steps of TAT
HOW TO DO THE TAT POSE
1. With one hand, lightly touch the tip of the thumb to the area 1/8-inch above the inner
corner of your eye.
2. With the fourth finger (ring finger) of the same hand, lightly touch the tip of the finger
to the area 1/8-inch above the inner corner of the other eye. Both fingertips are now on either
side of the bridge of your nose.
3. Place the tip of the middle finger at the point midway between, and about 1/2 inch above,
eyebrow level. You now have all three fingertips lightly touching the three points. If you make
your hand look like a coyote looking at you, it is easy to remember how to do the TAT pose.
4. Now place your other hand on the back of your head, with the palm touching the head so that
the thumb is resting at the base of the skull just above the hairline. The palm cradles the base
of your skull. If you are holding your hands in the TAT pose on someone else, the same area at the
base of the skull is covered, however your little finger will be just above the hairline. Both hands
should be resting gently. No pressure is necessary
Before starting each problem you want to clearly ask the body if it is OK to work on this now.
"If it's time for this to heal now, then let it be so".
Keep each step to a maximum of 5 minutes.
STEP 1: Put your attention on or Focus on - "The most influential attack to my system
resulting in (name the problem), and do the TAT Pose.” What happened?
STEP 2: Put your attention on - "That attack happened, it’s over, I’m ok, and it's no
longer resulting in (name the problem), and do the TAT Pose.” What happened?
STEP 3: Do the TAT Pose with either "All the origins of this problem are healing now"
or "God thank you for healing all the origins of this problem" What happened?
STEP 4: Do the TAT Pose with either "All the places in my mind, body and life where this
has been a been a problem/resonated/been held are healing now." or "God, thank you
for healing all the places in my mind where this has been a problem/resonated/
been held are healing now." What happened?
STEP 5: Do the TAT Pose with either "All the parts of me that got something out of having
this problem are healing now." or "God thank you for healing all the parts of me
that got something out of having this problem." What happened?
STEP 6: Do the TAT Pose with "I forgive everyone I blamed for this problem including God and
myself." What happened?
STEP 7: Do the TAT Pose with "I ask forgiveness of everyone I hurt because of this problem."
What happened?
Some Additional Observations and Helpful Hints
My personal experience with using the TAT Pose and the 7 Steps has been profound in revealing moments of trauma that subconsciously ruled my behaviors in every day life. However, once those trauma moments became known to me, I found that to remove their continued ill effects in my life, a second and equally simple method yet powerful method had to be used. It is called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and you can read all about it Here at the original site and Here at another very informative EFT Site and how to use it on yourself or through the guidance of an experienced practitioner. I cannot stress enough that, at least in my case, while TAT revealed the demons lurking within pulling my strings, it was not enough just knowing about them to still not be ruled by them. Only EFT was able to remove their ill effects.
Doing the TAT Pose and 7 Steps can lead you into very deep and previously suppressed memories. If you are doing this by yourself, I suggest going easy on yourself or using an experienced professional, Official TAT Site Here, as it can be a very draining and upsetting experience as past trauma is revealed to you.
